The game stars Eliwood, Roy's father, as he investigates the disappearance of his own father with his friends Hector and Lyn, leading them to clash with a brotherhood of assassins called the Black Fang. The Blazing Blade is a prequel to Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, taking place about 20 years prior. It is notably the first Fire Emblem game to be released outside of Japan. Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade - originally released under the title Fire Emblem in Western countries and known colloquially as Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword - is the seventh installment in the Fire Emblem series, released on the Game Boy Advance in 2003 and rereleased on the Wii U Virtual Console in 2014.
